The International Community's Response

When did UN officals receive warning about the genocide?
They first were given warning three months before the genocide happened.

Besides the warnings given by one of the planners, what were other waring sing of the genocide?
Other signs were hate propaganda, the open training of militia in Rwanda and the distributing of weapons. The government sponsored hate propaganda through eh radio, newspapers and also through the schools.  Also "death lists" were posted out in the open, of families and addresses of people who were to be murdered.

How did states-sponsered propaganda present the Tutsi group?
They presented hate against them. The propaganda was hate and it was supported by the government.

What prevented the international community from calling the violence in Rwanda "genocide"? What would have happened if they had?
They chose ignore the signs and believe that genocide was not going to happen. If they did believe, the genocide would have been prevented from happening most likely.

Once the international community withdrew its troops, what did the militia decide to do?
The militia made the genocide worse no that they were gone.

Who does President Clinton say must share responsiblity for the genocide?
The international community and the nations in Africa must share the responsibility.
