Sources of Tension: Part II

What sources of tension, new or old, Int eh Middle East are revealed by the film?

People have been trying to escape Bahrain’s dictator and the laws rules. They have The Arabs spring started protesting for equality and were shot at by the security. Many people were killed in the act. If the US likes the dictator then the US doesn’t want to get involved. But if they don’t like the dictator then they want to help out and spread democracy. This is creating anger in the Middle East which is a big source of tension.
People in the protest were treated very poorly after taking place in the protest. The US is trying to announce and make clear of their policies. Bahrain is a very important country because of oil. The land has a lot of ships from Saudi Arabia and Qatar go to the ports carrying a lot of oil. This is also another source of tension.
Saudi Arabian troops helped get rid of the protesting. Sunni are against the shiite in this situation. Destruction took place and there was clear evidence of this destruction this was destruction Shiite Mosques. The government had carried out this plan possibly causing a civil war. The US are protecting Bahrain and people are still disappearing. And relatives of the people missing can’t say anything about it or they are to gone as well. Also a source of tension.
Saudi Arabia started protesting and the US will not do anything about it because they are allies with Saudi Arabia.

Sources of Tension

What sources of tension, new and old, in the Middle East are revealed by the film?

A source of tension in the Middle East is the Israel-Palestine conflict. There is also tension about oil and water. Another thing that brings tension is wars in the Middle East and a war against us. Religion is another source of tension between the US and the Middle East and also within the Middle East itself. There was a massacre about to happen in Libya that was going on in the Middle East and the US stepped in to help fight against the massacres. Rebels that were unknown planned to massacre the city of Libya. Bengazi prepares to fight against Quadafi and his people. This creates tension in Libya. The rebels have taken over the oil production HQ and are secretly producing oil.

Jewish-Arab Conflict

This conflict is between Israel and Palestine. Israel wanted land and gained it in 1967. Palestine tried to take it back in 1973 and failed. Then Palestine resisted Israel by terrorist attacks, plane high jacking and a slaughter of the Olympic athletes of 1972. Then young Palestinians took terrorism in their own hand against Israel by disobeying the laws of Israel for young teenagers. Some people in Israel wanted to give Palestine the land they gained back for peace between them. Peace efforts started to take place with the peace treaty of 1979. But this had little effect. In 1993 Israel and the PLO made an agreement that Palestine was to own Gaza and the West Bank city of Jericho. Israel was unhappy with this because is was not independence but a separation of land. Israel started to grow again and this made Palestinians angry with them. This caused more attacks on Israel. Because of this Israel doubted the peace treaty and distrusted Arafat who was killed by a Jewish law student. A new prime minister was elected and peace took a slower process.

Why do they hate us? Part III

1. Do they hate our freedom or our polotics? You would have to ask Osama's opinion.

2. The policy that they hate the most is that they are for Isreal and against the Paletine's right.

3. What might be seen as politcally incorrect and blaming the victim might be, denying the U.S. and the allied policies.

4. President Obama didn't talk about the two-state solution dealing with Isreal and Palestine.

5. Gaza is suffering with economic crises because of the war against Isreal.

Why do they hate us? Part II

1.  Why does Osama bin Laden believe in Allah? Why does he think that killing people is right?

2. President Bush says that terrorist hate how we are free. I agree with this because in an interview with Osama bin Laden fights for his religion and wants everyone to follow Allah.
3. Bin Laden states that we have been terrorising people in his country. He also says this in an interview. He claims that if Americans can terrorize Obama's country why can why can't they attack America?

4. The reason that led young men of Arabia to find the Martyrdom attractive is because of radicalism, unemployment and being seperated from women.

5. Al Qeada is very popular because Bin Laden's his actions of violents have taken Muslim lives.

Why do they hate us?

1. Why didn't Brennan answer the question to why the terrorists attack? Did he not know the answer? Or was it really a long topic to discuss?
The way to answer these questions are the ask John Brennan himself.

2. President Obama says that Muslims around the world need to know that al Qaeda is a person of misery and death. John Brennan says he takes an organization of religion and turns it into a violent aggression against innocent people.

3. Thomas was dissatisfied with Brennan's answer because she wanted to know why al Qaeda takes a religion and turns it into a violent act. No she wouldn't be satisfied because Obama's answer didn't answer her question either.

4. Glen Greenwald thinks it is important to answer the question "Why?" about these terrorist attacks because she states "To agknowledge motive is not remotely to imply lagitimacy or justification." I agree with her because if we know why terrorists attack then we can prevent the type of activity.

5. If I was to answer Thomas's question "Why?" I would tell her, "They believe in a God named Allah. They follow what the Muslim bible says and believe that this is right. It is their religion that they follow, and they are commites servents of Allah.
